About the Book: The Call of ALLAH

At the heart of this course lies The Call of ALLAH: A Companion to the Holy Month of Ramadan, a book celebrated for its spiritual warmth and profound depth. Designed to serve as your daily guide throughout Ramadan, this companion offers reflective meditations, heartfelt prayers, and insightful reflections for each day. Within its pages, Dr. Fawzia al-Rifai (also known as Rosina-Fawzia Al-Rawi) charts a transformative path, reminding us that “Allah describes this month as the one in which the Qur’an was revealed,” and that fasting serves as a means to deeply engage with the Qur’anic guidance. Each chapter centers on a core theme—whether fasting, patience, gratitude, or another virtue—seamlessly interweaving Quranic verses, Prophetic insights, and inspiring narratives. The book presents fasting not as a mere hardship but as a sacred gateway to divine guidance and closeness to Allah. By willingly embracing hunger and restraint, we confront our own vulnerabilities, learning to depend wholly on Allah. As the text eloquently states, “Through fasting, we come to realise our weaknesses and how we depend on all of Allah’s gifts, and we experience His love, His closeness and His care for us.” In these daily reflections, fasting transforms into an act of love, inviting us to open our hearts to the illuminating guidance of the Qur’an and to bask in the divine embrace. With its carefully crafted meditations and supplications for each day, this companion encourages deep contemplation, sincere prayer, and a renewed appreciation for every moment of Ramadan—turning each fast into a personal dialogue with the Creator, filled with wisdom and peace.
